Because ablative treatments are stronger, they generally involve more healing and downtime than lighter fractional treatments. The treatment depth and intensity will be selected after evaluating your skin, goals, and medical history. This ablative treatment is mostly done in the Operating room with general anesthesia.

Precision Ablation and Selected Lesions

Not every lesion is suitable for laser treatment. Suspicious or changing growths must be evaluated before removal and may require biopsy or another treatment method.

What happens during treatment?

Before treatment, your provider will cleanse and evaluate the area and select the appropriate laser settings. Depending on the intensity and location of treatment, topical numbing medication or another form of anesthesia may be recommended.

The laser is then passed over the treatment area using a customized pattern, density, and depth. More intensive ablative procedures may require additional preparation and a longer recovery period.
Recovery varies depending on whether treatment is fractional or fully ablative and how aggressively the skin is treated. Temporary redness, warmth, swelling, peeling, crusting, or sensitivity may occur.
